Association between serum LH/FSH ratio and vitamin D3 levels in infertile Iraqi female

Abstract (EN)

The study was conducted on females with infertility to investigate the role of vitamin D3, and some hormones in the pathophysiology of infertility in females. The study has enrolled 50 female with infertility condition, and controlled with 50 fertile healthy female, the serum was extracted for each subject and analyzed for luteinizing hormone (LH), follicular stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin (PRL), testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, and insulin, as well as vitamin D3. The results have shown a significant reduction of vitamin D3 in infertile females compared to fertile healthy females. The levels of LH, PRL, testosterone, progesterone, and insulin were increased significantly in females with infertility compared to fertile healthy females, while the levels of estradiol and FSH were reduced significantly. In conclusion, vitamin D3 deficiency may interfere with the progression of infertility in females at birth age.
