Abstract (EN)
Assos is one of the ancient cities which characterizes the archaeological features of Troad in Greek and Roman times. Recent archaeological work that identifies the city's primary foundations depicts the gradual development of urbanisation. This project primarily identifies the borders of the city agora as well as defining its structures and consequently aims to identify the connection the agora has with the entire city.By bearing in mind the agora's plan peculiarity and its topographic structure there has been considerate detail on the factors that form the project. In order to understand the matters entirety it is necessary to analyse the neighbouring areas' agora plans. By analysing the neighbouring areas' agora plans it is possible to identify the general factors that shaped the agoras and hence serves to make it possible to understand the depth of the matter. Indeed it is not possible to think that an agora will only serve for a sole purpose during its periods of construction, destruction and miscellaneous use. With further consideration to this idea it is also worthwhile to consider the changes the Assos agora underwent after its construction. After examination of the graphic representation of the agora there has been focus on the technical characteristics of the structures. Information has been established about the build of these structures, their architectural features, exit points, their similarities, their usage periods and the changes they underwent. Moreover, the intercity interaction factor has been established by emphasising on the edifices within the agora structures.Besides the architectural point of the subject, the agoras were public areas that were the hearth of social life during the ancient period. Therefore it is inadequate to solely identify the structures in the hope of describing the scope of the social events present in the agoras? history. One can conclude that although we do not have enough ground to establish the existence of livelihood in Assos, certain data about the agora that we have inclines us to make statements about such a possibility of an existence
