Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to compare the children's novels of Astrid Lindgren and Cahit Ucuk, who are accepted as two important women writers in the field of children's literature and represent different countries, in terms of child and values education and to determine the similarities and differences in children's novels of these two authors under the titles of children and values education. The research is limited to children's novels by Astrid Lindgren and Cahit Ucuk. In the research, document analysis and content analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in order to comparatively examine the children's novels of Astrid Lindgren and Cahit Uçuk in terms of children and values education. In the first stage of the research, data suitable for the research topic were collected and codes were created. After the main themes were determined with these generated codes, the determined themes were matched with the appropriate codes. At the last stage, the findings were interpreted and discussed in the conclusion part and suggestions were made. Descriptive content analysis method was used to analyze the findings. In the research, direct quotations are frequently used in order to emphasize the data. As a result of the research, it is seen that the child heroes in Ucuk's novels are far from the reality of children, but the author includes both the features that can positively guide children through child heroes and values education. When Lindgren's children's novels are examined, it is seen that the child heroes in the novels are handled in a way that will positively guide the children who are readers. It is seen that the author gives less place to values education compared to Cahit Ucuk. However, it is seen that the author does not include a value education that will negatively affect children and the values that the author includes in children's novels do not coincide with the values in Turkish culture. On the contrary, she includes values that are considered important in Turkish culture such as "hospitality", "respect for elders", "unity and togetherness". However, it is seen that Cahit Ucuk gives more place values such as sharing, helping, loving and protecting nature and animals, jobsharing, economising, being responsible, being hardworking, as well as national and religious values than Astrid Lindgren. Lindgren's children's novels contain limited examples in terms of values education.
