The capital cities of Assyrian state

The Assyrian state that existed between 2000 BC. till 600 BC. And during this time it managed to become an empire from humble city state. The context of our thesis focuses on the capitals of this state. These capitals in order would be Assur, Kar-Tukulti-Ninurta, Kalhu, Dur-Sharrukin and Niniveh. The purpose of our thesis (in chronological order) is to explain why and how these capitals were founded, the impact of the geography on these cities. Each topic has been divided and researched in three chapters. In the first chapter, the city?s geography, archeological history. In the second chapter, the buildings within the city are mentioned under the guide and translation of cuneiform tablets.
