Özet (EN)

Objective: Atherosclerosis, the most common reason for coronary artery disease(CAD), is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in all over the world. It was speculated that fatty tissue originated adipocytokines may play role in pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. These adipocytokines may alter vascular homeostasis by effecting endthelial cells, arterial smoothh muscle cells and macrophages. Vaspin is newly desceribed member of adipocytokines family. We aimed to investigate whether plasma vaspin level has any predictive value in coronary artery disease.Method: Fourty patients who have at least single vessel ?70 % stenosis demostrated angiographically and 40 control group were included to study. Serum vaspin level was measured from serum that is obtined by centrifigation of blood and stored at -20 0C by ELISA method. The length, weight and body mass index (BMI) of patients were measured. Biochemical parameters including total cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C, insulin, urea, creatinine and hs-CRP levels were measured by the auto-analyzer.Results: Biochemical markers levels were similar in both groups. Serum vaspin(pg/ml) levels were significantly lower in CAD patients than control group (256 ? 219,7 vs. 472,5 ? 564,2 pg/ml. P<0,001). Beside this serum vaspin level was lower in control group with high systolic blood pressure. Conclusion: Serum vaspin level was found significantly lower in coroner arter diases patients than control group. And vaspin may be used as a predictive factor but large scale studies are needed. Beside this the role of vaspin in hypertebsion pathogenesis should be studied in large studies.Key words: Coroner Arter Diases , Vaspin
