Abstract (EN)

In this study, the usability of glass wastes, which can also be used in recycling, in certain proportions of aggregate in concrete mixture was investigated. Glass is a completely natural material and is 100% recyclable. After the discovery of glass for centuries, human beings have aimed to use energy sources more efficiently thanks to this recycling feature. In this study, compressive and tensile strengths of the samples prepared by using glass wastes instead of concrete aggregate in two stages were observed. Generally, experiments have shown that as the percentage of glass waste used increases, the mechanical properties of concrete are adversely affected. However, the usage of recycling glass about 10% by weight of aggregate especially in fine gradations, appears to be a viable method for increasing energy efficiency.
