Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the effect of the use of tire aggregates produced from waste vehicle tires obtained by mechanical grinding method in concrete on the impact strength of concrete was investigated in the light of the literature and its usability as rubber aggregate in building materials. In the research, it is aimed to improve the impact strength resistance of concrete in order to recycle the tires into the economy by evaluating the tires in the idle state and to prevent damage to the structures due to sudden or accidental impacts, explosions, etc. that will suddenly overload the materials and cause loss of life. In this study, (150x150x150) mm cube specimens of R, L10, L15, L20 series prepared by substituting fine aggregates with rubber aggregates at the rates of 10%, 15%, 20% by volume were prepared for compressive strength tests with a s/w ratio of 0.40. (100x100x400) mm prism specimens from the series with the same ratios were produced in accordance with the standards for impact tests with a s/w ratio of 0.40. The compressive values of the tested cube specimen series decreased as the rubber aggregate ratio in the concrete increased. When the impact test results applied to the prism specimens were examined, it was determined that the impact strength increased as the rubber aggregate ratio increased.
