Abstract (EN)
In this study; the effect of recycled carbon (BC) that was obtained from wate tires was investigated as an additive on the properties of bitumen and bituminous mixes. The physical properties of pure and modified binders were determined by conventional tests, while their rheological properties were determined by dynamic shear rheometer (DSR), beam bending rheometer (BBR) and rotational viscometer (RV) tests. In order to determine the effect of black carbon on the performance properties of mixtures, BSK samples were prepared by using pure and modified bitumens using Marshall mix design method. Marshall Stability, Retained Marshall Stability (RMS), Indirect Tensile Strenght Modulus (ITSM), Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS), Static Creep and Creep hardness tests were performed on the samples. According to the results obtained, with the use of black carbon additive in bitumen modification, it has been observed that the binders tend to harden and temperature sensitivity decreases with the increase in the additive ratio. It has been observed that the performance of the binders at high and low temperatures has been increased with the addition of BC. According to the mixture test results, it was seen that the performance properties of the mixtures improved at 10-15% BC additive rate.
