Özet (EN)

Waste tires are environment polluting materials which dissolve in very long years because of being polymeric. Because of the constantly developing automotive industry and increased tire consumption, waste tire formation is increasing day by day and researches on their recycling are being done. Pyrolysis is an efficient method of converting waste tires into valuable chemicals and fuels. However, sulfur-containing materials used to increase tire durability are contained within products obtained after pyrolysis and are again causing environmental problems. This restricts the use of products obtained after pyrolysis. In this study, in acidic environment desulfurization of pyrolytic fluid obtained from pyrolysis of waste tires is done. The H2SO4 solution was used to reduce the high sulfur content of the pyrolytic fluid. The effect of H2SO4 concentration, duration and mixing time factors on the desulfurization process was investigated in the study. In the study, 8 different experiments were designed using different combinations of these three factors. The sulfur content of each sample subjected to desulfurization was analyzed by XRF method. Optimum desulphurization yield and conditions were determined using MINITAB 17 software. 10% H2SO4 solution, stirring for 1 hour and desulphurization with 8 hours of waiting time were found to be the parameters with the highest desulfurization. By using these parameters, 32% sulfur removal was achieved. The density, viscosity and pH values of all samples were determined. Calorific values of the selected samples were determined. GC-MS analysis was carried out in order to determine in detail the chemical compounds contained in the sample obtained under optimum conditions.
