Abstract (EN)

The objective of this study is the effect of harmful and toxic materials to living creatures, phenol, and derivatives for elimination of magnetic separation technique of waste water is to be used. Chitosan-coated magnetic nanoparticles was successfully synthesized and implemented as an effective sorbent for the removal of phenol compounds from aqueous solution. Synthesized magnetic chitosan nanoparticles was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM), scanning slectron sicroscope (SEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). The mass content of chitosan on magnetic Fe3O4-chitosan nanoparticles was estimated % 21.1. The saturation magnetization Fe3O4-chitosan nanoparticles were found to be 55.0 emu/g and the resulsts indicated that these nanoparticles are superparamagnetic. Adsorption characteristics of phenolic compounds from aqueous solution on to magnetic chitosan have been studied and results indicated that the adsorption capacities were affected by initial pH values, initial concentration of adsorbates, dosage of adsorbent and contact time. It was shown that Freundlich model is well suited the adsorption of phenol, 2-chlorophenol, and 4-chlorophenol and the maximum adsorption capacities were calculated as 196.08, 243.90 and 322.58 mg/g, respectively.
