Analysis of veterinary drugs residues in waste water with HPLC-DAD

Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, developed an effective analysis method for extracting and quantifying veterinary pharmaceuticals from wastewater of poultry farm by solid phae extarction (SPE) and HPLC-DAD and RP-HPLC-DAD technique was developed and validated to simultaneously analyze residues of significant veterinary drugs from different classes (enrofloxacin, sulfadimidine, oxytetracycline, trimethoprim seftiofur, tylosin, doxycycline ) in extremely complex water matrices. Drain water samples collected form chicken farms was filtered with Whitman filter paper to eliminate compounds in suspension. After than, samples were filtered again through 0,45µm nylon membrane. In order to prevent any possible degredation, the samples were kept at 40C until solid phase extraction stage. Solid phase extraction method, which was done by using OASIS HLB 500 mg extraction cartridge, was applied to clean and concentrate waste water samples. Final analysis to determine the residues of selected antibiotic drugs in samples which were concentrated by solid phasse extraction was done by developed HPLC-DAD residue detection method. According to the results, 5 of 7 antiobiotic drugs was detected in waste water of poultry farms. Validated results showed that 15 mL of waste water contains 0,1415 mg/L Enrofloxacin; 0.0460 mg/L seftiofur; 0,0803 mg/L enrofloxacin; 0,1720 mg/L doxycycline and 0,2048 mg/L trimetoprim.
