Abstract (EN)

In countries having both economical problems and facing deficiencies in infrastructure like Turkey, it is critically important that the preferred plannings of infrastructural systems should be the ones bringing the most effective solutions and carrying the optimum cost, especially when considered that the infrastructure investments?s costs are very high in today?s conditions. The hydraulic calculation of sewage channels is one of the most important stages of the preparation of the project. Manual calculation of hydraulics takes more time and also the probability of making errors is higher. This calculation is preferred to be gained within the shortest possible time and free of error. In this study, we use the Excel table, also used by Istanbul Municipality Waterworks (ISKI), for the preparation of the project of sewage channels and hydraulic calculations; the programmes msKanal and sewerCAD, arranged for the project of waste water and rain water, are used to calculate the quantity of the water to be kept in distance, and according to this quantity the diameter and slope of the pipe are selected, and also the depth of the installment is calculated. Subsequently, we compare these calculations and show the most advisable one.
