A normative study on some parameters between 10-12 aged children depends on talent searching in Athletics (An experiment of Ankara city)

One of the important point is the subject to divert the children on which events and the criteria of selection. Ther are lots of different test batteries and parameters in talent research. The children has been tested according to these parameters and which had a good performances has been selected.From that point using for the sportiv and athletic talent selection was aimed to normation tests for Turkish children. In this normation; trainers, sport stuffs or physical education teachers will make the talent selection for guiding and helping about those studies. It was normed interest in children who live in Ankara with this reserch.In the mesurements; height, weight, body mass indeks, hand grip, sit&reach test, vertical jump, standing long jump, medicine ball throw, 20m. sprint, 30 m. sprint, 10 m. deparlense run, 30 sec. and 1 min. abdominal, 1.000 m. run and walk have been tested.From the seven center towns in Ankara 11 primary school children between 10-12 ages have been tested. Approximately, %2 of this population were in the research group of study. During the normation, these tests have been made to children who are from different socio-economical places, studied in the private or goverment schools. The final of these tests, totally of 4.080 children from 5.346 who were matching to the criteria and all tests have been evaluated.The children parmeters of the mean, standart deviation and percentage values analized statistically the program of SPSS 15 for Windows. From the measurement results, it has been determined that the mean of the measurement, standart deviation, %1, 10 and 25th level of measurements. The comparision of the researches with other studies shows that the studies are approximately paralel in Turkey, but foreign countries have some differences in some parameters according to the research.Consist of this research have been made basic field tests. Observations of the trainer are the most important thing at this point. The children who can?t his/her performance, can be better than the children that have a good performance. In this case, at this age group only these tests are not meaningful, but observations of the trainer are important like the objective results.Key Words : Talent selection, adolescent, normation, athletics
