Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, N shell average fluorescence yields and total N shell X-ray fluorescence cross-sections at 6 keV have been calculated theoretically for the elements 38 ? Z ? 101.Fit values of N subshell fluorescence yields and super Coster-Kronig transitions probabilities (Sij) for elements 38 ? Z ? 101 have been calculated by using the method of least squares from the N shell fluorescence yields and super Coster-Kronig transitions probabilities (Sij) which were given by McGuire [1]. The effective subshell fluorescence yields for N shell have been calculated by using these fit values. The average N shell fluorescence yields have been derived from the effective fluorescence yields and total N shell X-ray fluorescence cross-sections at 6 keV have been calculated theoretically. As the atomic number (Z) increases, average fluorescence yields increase for N shell because Auger transition probability increases for low atomic number and the probability of characteristic X-ray emission for high Z. The results show an increase (~2.00%-13.50%) in N shell average fluorescence yield and total N shell X-ray fluorescence cross-sections with increasing Z.There was no the theoretical and experimental data for N shell and higher shell in literature. Therefore, there was no comparison for average fluorescence yield and total X-ray fluorescence cross-sections at 6 keV for N shell.Key Words : Fluorescence Yield, X-Ray Fluorescence Cross-section, Effective Subshell Fluorescence Yield, Average Fluorescence Yield
