The effect of the argumentation method 7th grade elementary school in the structure of atom upon the student success

The aim of this research is to research the effect of the argumentation method upon the Student Success. Experimental research method was applied in this study. The main problem that constitute the base of this research is "Is there any effect of the argumentation method upon 7th grade middle school students' success on the structure of atom subject?" Sub-problems that identified depending on the problem is that;  Is there any difference between control and experimental groups?  Is there any difference between male and female students? The research sample consists of 12 boys, 13 girls and total 25 students who are educated in 7th grade of an elementary school that is in Doğanyol, the district of Malatya province in the second term of 2013-2014 academic year. Control group consists of 6 boys, 6 girls and total 12 students. Experimental group consists of 6 boys, 7 girls and total 13 students. Multiple-choice achievement test was used as data collection tool that is consisting of 30 questions. This achievement test was used as a pre-test before starting to research and as a post-test at the end of the research. According to the pre-test results, two groups were constituted, that was provided homogeneity in the terms of success and gender. The control and the experimental groups of the study were selected randomly The research was lasted 10 lessons period. While the activities in the textbook were performing in the control group, the worksheet that were improved by researcher according to the argumentation method were performed in the experimental group. The data of the research were analysed with SPSS 21. According to pre-test results there are not significant differences between control and experimental groups but according to the post-test results there are significant differences control and experimental groups.
