Abstract (EN)
Attilâ İlhan is one of the last prominent representatives of the 1940 Generation socialist realist poets. In his poems, he dealt with social themes such as social problems, opposition to war, longing for peace, oppression of workers, poverty, as well as individual themes such as love, women, the city, and wanderlust. Attilâ İlhan put his own "self" into his poetry in both social and individual themes, and in this respect he achieved a different discourse from the poets of his generation. The strong parallelism between Attilâ İlhan's poetry and his life led him to reflect his experiences in his poetry. The poet's tense life and political stance led to the intensity of the use of the discourse of violence in the language of poetry. In Attilâ İlhan's poetry, the discourse of violence appears in every theme the poet deals with. This thesis focuses on this feature of the poet's poems. After discussing Attilâ İlhan's place in Turkish literature in the introduction chapter, the aim, importance and method of the study are outlined. In the first chapter of the thesis, Attilâ İlhan's life, poetry and works were emphasized. In the second chapter, the phenomenon of violence was analyzed and the difficulty of defining this phenomenon, the scope of violence, its past and present, its destructive and constructive nature, its place in human life and its relationship with art were discussed. The third part is the discourse of violence and the image of violence in Attilâ İlhan's poetry, which constitutes the purpose and subject of the study. The language of violence in the poems of the poet was divided into thematic headings and analyzed by text-centered analysis method. In the conclusion section, the reasons for the discourse of violence in Attilâ İlhan's poetry are questioned and how this discourse is handled under which headings is expressed by making generalizations.
