Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using Autograph software program on 10th grade students' success and skills about generalizing rules in symmetry of functions and algebraic properties. This study was done with 35 students studying in Anatolian High School in Balıkesir. Research was carried out by semi-empirical model with pretest-posttest control group. All the lessons in experimental group were conducted through Autograph in the classroom and learning activities given to students by teacher were completed in a computerized environment using Autograph. Control group completed all the activities in the classroom with instructions given by teacher. Students' success was assessed through pre and post test scores of conceptual knowledge evaluation test and topic evaluation test was used to detect generalization skills of students. Prior to intervention pretest to both groups and after intervention posttest to both groups were applied and study took three consecutive weeks. If the analyses of data are normally distributed, independent samples t test was used. Mann-Whitney U test was used if the distribution was not normal. In addition to these analyses; most accurate answered questions and mistakes done by students were determined by quantitative analysis. At the end of the study it is observed that the success of experimental group students increased from the beginning of the study to the end of it. In addition to this using Autograph program did not improve the success of students in all topics of symmetry of functions but improved the success of subtopic dilation and shrink and students who used Autograph program sharpened their skills about generalizing rules of dilation and shrink. Key Words: Autograph, Students' Success, Symmetry of functions and algebraic properties, generalization, 10th class
