Abstract (EN)

The developmental time, mortality rate, preoviposition, oviposition and postoviposition period were studied with regard to the host plant of its prey Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) and fecundity of Serangium parcesetosum Sicard (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). Two cotton cultivars (Çukurova- 1518 and Deltapine) and two eggplant cultivars (Pala and Çukurova-topağı) were tested at 25 °C and 65 ± 5 % RH in temperature cabinets. Life tables were constructed with the obtained data to compare the effect of different trophic levels. Developmental time of S. parcesetosum was shortest for Cukurova-1518 (22.9 days) and longest for Çukurova topağı (28.0 days). The total mortality of the immature stages was lowest for Cukurova-1518 (20.8 %) and the highest for Pala (48.9 %). Statistical differences significant were observed between cotton and eggplant while was not found no differences between varieties. Cotton was found the superior plant for mass rearing of S. parcesetosum because of the low mortality rate and high fecundity on both cotton cultivars.
