Abstract (EN)
The Eurasian steppes are a vast geography with a rich culture bearing the traces of many civilizations for thousands of years. Today, daily lives, cultures, beliefs and art notions of Scythian, Xiongnu and Kok Turk civilizations among the nomadic tribes living in these steppes are examined by many disciplines. With the development of the science of archaeology, discoveries in this area shed light on the researchers working on these civilizations. The existence of a life after death in the Scythian, Xiongnu and Kok Turk cultures set the basis for magnificent art works in cairn and grave complexes. The iconography science focuses on understanding the myths, culture and historical development in the period of the works of art explored. On the other hand, there is a need for different tools about the ancient cultures on which we cannot obtain enough information. This study aims to contribute to the science of iconography by recording the figures in the works with today's illustration tools, determining the artistic perspective of the period from the illustration style in the figures, and making new interpretation attempts. At the first stage, the illustrative styles of the selected works were taken into consideration and examined by making a specific classifications. Then, identical illustrations of these works were drawn and supplementary arrangements were carried out through illustrative restoration processes. Finally, the selected works of art were interpreted with contemporary art concepts and original illustration works were done.
