Federation of western thrace Turks in Europe: A study on the political organization process of western thrace Turkish minority

In the thesis, the immigration process of Western Thrace Turkish Minority and the organizationsin Europe established during this process are discussed. Organizational structure is mostly achieved byFederation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe that is the biggest minority organization representingWestern Thrace Turkish Minority in Europe.The high level of organizational structure among Western Thrace Turkish Minority members inEurope is motivated by the perceptions about Western Thrace. In this logical framework, the problemsthat Western Thrace Turkish minority has been going through are widely discussed and the main thema ofthe study, the immigration process of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority, their life concept and theorganizational structure of the Minority is aimed to be given in a complete picture.One of the main parts of the study ?Immigration from Western Thrace and Organizations? givesdetailed information about the immigration to various geographical regions other than Western Europeand the Western Thrace Turkish Minority organizations in various geographical regions as well inWestern Thrace are discussedBy this method, it is aimed to analyze the immigration process from Western Thrace to WesternEurope and the similar as well as different organizational structure of the various minority organizations,taking into account the specific features of a life in Europe. A part of the study ?General Profil of theWestern Thrace Turkish Minority and Perceptions about Western Thrace? gives detailed informationabout their profiles acquired through empirical datas, their social relations, their idea about theirorganizational structure,their idea about Western Thrace and Germany, where 80 % of Western ThraceTurkish Minority members, who immigrated to Western Europe, live.The main parts of the study depends mostly on empirical datas, interviews and archives, this wasthe result of the feature of the content. The thema is still scientifically and politically untouched and thisleads us to use investigative analysis technique as well as informative analysis technique together.As a result of all dissertions, we do not hesitate to conclude that the Western Thrace TurkishMinority organizations in Europe begin to take steps in changing their identities after there happenedsome improvements in human rights violations in Western Thrace, these organizations still have the mostadvanced political representation power, the Western Thrace Turkish Minority members in Europe arealienated from Greek minority in countries to which they immigrated and they have become a part ofEuropean Turkish community in Western Europe.Key Words: Western Thrace, Organization, Germany, Europe, Greece, Immigration
