The relations between Albania and the European Union in the frame of European Union Law

Called ?The Relations Between Albania And The European Union In The Frame Of European Union Law?, this thesis`s aim is to evaluate the relationships between Albania and EU after taking a brief look at this relations. As the foundation of EU was laid after the Second World War, in 1950, this thesis contains the Second World War and postwar period.Although Albania is located in the European Continent, as a result of great power?s orientation on the one hand and its own gowernment?s decision on the other hand it kept away from EU. It could take first step towards EU only then the dictatorship regime ended.While we are examining relations between Albania and EU, it is inevitable to mention on situation of Balkan States. The continuous instability in the Balkans had always attracted the attention of EU. Most of the time one of the parts of this instability was also Albania and Albanians. The purpose of the common policy which EU developed for five countries of Western Balkan including Albania was to resolve problems of insatability and to establish peace in this region. In accordance with this policy Stabilisation and Association Process was started and Stabilisation And Association Agreement aiming at European Integration was signed.As the most important legal basis of the relations between Albania and EU, the Stabilisation And Association Agreement?s content and juridical character has been examined detaily in the thesis.Also Stabilisation and Association Reports inform that the Stabilisation And Association Process has been advanced slowly but in right direction in a satifactory way.Making necessary reforms in many fields, Albania has taken all steps to fulfill the obligations of Stabilisation And Association Agreement. In spite of that Stabilisation And Association Agreement do not contain an open commitment about european membership of Albania EU has stated constantly in its possitive approach to membership of Western Balkan states.Despite all the difficulties Albania has been making possible every effort to join the European Union.
