Agricultural insurance application of adaption period to the European Union in Turkey

Abstract (EN)

By this study is to present how agricultural insurance has been applied in Turkey to adaptation process of European Union. Considering the significance of agriculture sector in terms of Turkish economy, agricultural sector income is to be guaranteed. As a result of this, insurance plays an important role at the sector. As in every developing country in Turkey also the social and economic development and the structural changes parallel to these effects the importance and position of agriculture within the whole economy. But any decrease in the importance of the agriculture sectory which is the main source of the basic necessities of human beings such as nutrition, shelter and dressing can be expected. In addition, the biggest sectory in employment is the agriculture sectory. The main part of the Turkish industry is based on the agriculture. For these reason, in all countries a different importance is given to the agriculture sectory. Agriculture sectory is an open factory. Indirectly the most effected sectory by the natural, social, personal and economic risks are the agriculture sectory. The products of the farmer by which he can make a contribution to the country economy and by which he can continue his life are unprotected against the risks. As result of agricultural insurance is very important) In addition, it is obvious that there is an certain improvement in agricultural insurance for the sake of the insurance sector. Key Words 1.
