Abstract (EN)

The integration process of Europe and the idea of gathering Europe under a supranational roof can not be thought without Germany. Germany's role in Europe's economic, social, political and cultural integration is closely related to the European Union's today and future as well as Turkey's future. In the context of European Union's future, the potential policies of Germany and its possible leadership role will have a critical role in the near future. Germany will have a leading role in whether the European Union will enter a deeper integration and become a more powerful Union or is going to disintegrate and lose power. Although Germany appears to be the leader in the European Union, it seems to be difficult to achieve its goals. Instead, it will have to adopt a formula that will reconcile Germany with other EU member states, particularly with France. The future of the European Union will have impacts on Turkey-EU relations. Currently, due tothe rising threat of right-wing extremism, along with the increased migration to EU countries it does not seem easy to achieve progress in EU-Turkey relations. Still neither Turkey nor the EU are willing to put an end to the relations. Although the current Turkish-EU relations seem to be in a deadlock, keeping up with the accession process still seem to be to the interest of both Turkey and the EU.
