Abstract (EN)
The issue of climate change has been a major threat to the world in the period after 1980s. Many treaties, protocols and conferences have been made globally against this threat. These activities are organized in order to take precautions against the climate crisis. The European Union (EU) has been known for the importance that it attaches to the environmental policies for a considerable period. With these environmental policies implemented, the fight against climate change has also begun. However, within the EU, member states have different attitudes towards the climate crisis. Sweden has been known for the importance it attaches to environmental policies even before its membership to the EU. Poland, on the other hand, has a slow and problematic attitude to adapt to the EU policies. In the thesis, EU climate policies will be evaluated and Sweden's outstanding practices in the EU regarding the environment and climate policies and its pioneering role, and the problems of Poland in adapting these policies will be comparatively elaborated.
