Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to compare the paid women employment of European Union member country Greece and European Union candidate country Turkey in the framework of women employment in the European Union's social policy. In this context, the conceptual framework of the study consists of social policy, the welfare state, welfare regimes, and women employment. Nevertheless, an evaluation has been made based on historical and official documents on the women employment and social policy of the European Union. The comparison between Greece and Turkey has been based on their relations with the European Union and their welfare regime model which is similar in both countries and a debate has been held in this context. As a result, the similarities and differences between Greece and Turkey have been highlighted and the limited impact of the European Union on the paid women employment regulations of both countries has been observed.
