Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of September 11 attacks on the policies of the European Union?s struggleagainst the terrorism. Terrorism has been a threat to all the states that existed throughout the history, but only after the attacks of September 11 it was better understood as a major threat to the international community. In this respect first of all, the United Nations and NATO and also within the European Union a lot of regulationsrelated to the ways to fight against the terrorism were made.Many changes occurred in the political branches of the Union's External Security and Defense, Justice and Internal Affairs as well as the restriction of fundamental rights and freedoms were also adopted to fight against the terrorism after September 11.In my study a change made in the Security Policies of the European Union in the struggle against the terrorism after the September 11 attacks is examined. In the last chapter, we describe the changes that occur in the External Security and Defense policy of the Union after September 11.
