EU?s illegal migration policy and its reflection on Turkey

The European Union is an organisation that aims integration in every field until now since its foundation. However; the EU has confronted with illegal immigration issue as paralel with this policy. The EU has selected tight protection measures and strict visa applications as a way of struggling method with the problem. The EU?s conclusive approach, adopted for illegal immigration problem, is to streghten the walls of ?Europe Castle?.Turkey, however, is located on the immigration junction because of its historical and geographical impacts. On the other hand, there was not any active immigration policy of Turkey until 2000?s. The EU membership has made up significant policy modifications in this field as in every field. After the process of Helsinki, Turkey?s prospect to the illegal immigration subject has changed and become much more long-term project. As a matter of fact, this modification has reflections on related principles and numerical data derived from struggling in illegal immigration.On the contrary, Turkey is faced with dilemmas due to the political miyopia of the EU. The readmission agreement is the knotted point of the dilemmas. While the EU wants to transfer immigration problem to Turkey with readmission agreement, Turkey wants cost-sharing and progress in parallel with full membership date.Illegal immigration is not only the problem of one country but also the others.
