Abstract (EN)
In the first part of this thesis study, which covers Turkey's situation against ECHR, statistical analysis have been carried out regarding the decisions have been made against Turkey by ECHR between 1987 and 2011 for 207 cases related with freedom of speech. In this analysis, the cases in question has been examined particularly in terms of factors like the causes, the channels of communications, the year of application and decision, case durations, total indemnifications incurred, prosecutors' features (age, sex, profession, etc.) and many other varibles, and a general understanding regarding whole cases have been exposed. In the second part of the study, interviews have been made with those prosecutors of the abovementioned 207 cases, whose cases have occurred in İstanbul, and a acquiring a general understanding about the subjects and their perception of world have been intended by redirecting questions of whose subjects are their understanding of human rights and ECHR, the reasons behind their application to ECHR, indemnifications they have received, their understanding for limitions of freedom of speech.
