Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the sustainable consumption behaviour of the lawyers participating in the research in relation to different variables (gender, professional seniority, type of institution, socioeconomic level, marital status). Convenience sampling was used to select the research sample. The sample of the study consists of 108 lawyers working in Aksaray province. The survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The sustainable consumption behaviour scale developed by Doğan, Bulut and Çımrın (2015) was used as a data collection tool. The scale consists of four factors. The scale includes the dimensions of environmental awareness, non-essential purchases, savings and reusability. SPSS 22 was used to analyse the data. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the sustainable consumption behaviour of the lawyers participating in the research was at a medium level. When analysed according to different variables, it was concluded that there was no significant difference according to the gender variable. When analyzing the sustainable consumption behaviour of the lawyers participating in the research with respect to the variables of professional seniority, type of institution, socioeconomic level and marital status, a statistically significant difference is observed. In view of these results, it is recommended to increase the number of studies carried out in different provinces on the sustainable consumption behaviour of lawyers.
