The comprasion of the curriculums physical education and sports teaching and coaching education in Austria and Turkey

The aim of this study is to examine the curriculum of physical education and sports teacher educating and the curriculum of trainer education which are applied in Austria and Turkey. Comparative education is a discipline which helps to identify the similarities and differences of two or more educational systems which are in different countries and cultures; explains the facts apparently similar and initiates beneficial proposals for the ways of educating people.With this study, Austrian and Turkish educational policies have been evaluated in accordance with the European Union Educational Policies.In this study, the curriculum of physical education and sports teacher educating and the curriculum of trainer education which are put into practice in Austria and Turkey have been compared. This study has been restricted by the descriptive study.and the current state about the subject has been determined.In this study, before all else, the terms of physical education and sports, coaching have been explained and the educational systems in Austria and Turkey have been mentioned. The curriculum of a physical education and sports teacher educating and the curriculum of a coaching education which are applied in the University of Vienna (Austria) and Turkey have been examined.In this study, the similarity in the duration of physical education and sports teacher education and coaching education between Austria and Turkey it seem to be different. However, it is found that there are visible differences in lectures which are given in these departments in both countries. It is observed that Religion, Physics and Biomechanic lessons have been taught in a low level in the schools of physical education and sports in Austria ,differently in Turkey. The other difference is that while the training practice has been applied in public schools which are depend on the Ministry of National Education in the universities of Turkey, the training practice can be applied in public schools and private social-cultural associations; also it is seen that active participation and control is critically important. The European Union which includes various cultures aims to bring all these different cultures together in peaceFor this reason, we have reached a conclusion that the curriculums of physical education and sports teacher education and coaching education have to be revised in accordance with the knowledge society of European Union and their policies of educational systems.
