Abstract (EN)
This research aims to suggest a 'Shoe Design Education Program for Associate Degree Due To Expectations Of Shoe Industry'. The goal is to help students of this program to be able to fulfill the need of the shoe industry of Turkey, which is regarded as one of the important industries of the country. The history and culture of shoes in Turkey, where it stands today and the past and the present of shoe design education has been researched. It was tried to contact 30 shoe companies that produce for design and branding within the shoe industry, and a pre-structured interview form was arranged with 9 company managers, and open-ended questions were asked in order to determine the training deficiencies of the institutions providing shoe design education and the companies in the shoe industry. By evaluating the answers given, course content proposals for associate degree programs in Turkey were determined.
