Özet (EN)

Introduction: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by not suitable for age and developmental level symtoms such as excessive mobility, inability to delay desires and persistent inattention. ADHD can lead to serious academic, social and pschiatric problems in all stages of development starting from early childhood. It is known that children diagnosed with ADHD at school age have more deterioration in their academic functionality, lower school success and increased class repetition rates compared to those who do not have this diagnosis. Mental well-being may be affecteed besides the development of schema and negative cognition because of problems in family and interpersonal relations and in jobs due to ADHD. Most of the time teachers and families feel helpless against the behavioral problems of these children, which increases the importance of studies on ADHD. In Aydin Efeler FHC we aimed to determine the factors that increase the risk of ADHD, identify children with the risk of ADHD and make them diagnosed by directing these children to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Outpatient Clinic by using Child Adolescent Behavioral Disorder Scale screening test on 6-13 years old children as well as aiming to get prior information about ADHD prevelance in Aydin, Efeler and to raise awareness about ADHD. Materials and Methods: İn the firsts tage the CEDCS scale and questionnaire forms were applied to 266 children, who were between 6 and 13 old and agreed to participate in this work, detected in Aydın Efeler FHC's no 4, 14, 24 and FHC's of Cestepe and Tepecik. İn terms of ADHD 29 children found at risk and were referred to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Polyclinic for further diagnostic evaluation. Results: In our study, the risk of ADHD in Aydin Efeler was found to be %10,9 and the diseases the mother had during pregnancy and the number of children in the family had a statistically significiant differences between the groups with and without ADHD. Conclusion: The mother's illness during pregnancy increased the risk of ADHD. At the same time ,the risk of ADHD decreased as the number of children in the family increased. We think that more studies are needed to increase the awareness of health personel and parents about ADHD and to measure they knowledge levels.
