Investigation of the chemical and biochemical properties of the pool water in the hotels which in the vicinity of Aydın province

Today, there are swimmig pools in all hotels, pensions, estates, indoor sports halls and shools. For this reason it has become a part of our lives. Pool water needs to maintain certain chemicals in order to be optimum for swimming and safe. The chemical effects and changes of the water are very significant. Its vital that daily pool maintenance, circulation and cleaning is done in order to persevere safe water. The Ministry of Health is now obligated to conduct public pool inspections once per month. These analyzes can be done at Public Health Laboratories but can be also be done by Ministry of Health approved laboratories. According to swimming pool regulations the following needs to be analyzed during pool inspections: microbiological parameter; E.coli, sum of coliforms, P.aeruginosa and the sum of colonies, chemical parameters; aluminum, ammonium, nitrite, sum of alkalinity, pH, Copper, cyanuric acid, free and bound chlorine and Physical parameters like color, clarity and temperature. Between the years of 2017 and 2018 the Aydin province had 15 hotels and a sum of 31 pools of which inspections were conducted during the months of June, July and August and the water was analyzed. According to our findings; In the year of 2017 K company's children pool's nitrite, bound chlorine and the sum colony and in the year 2018 however E company's children pool's E.coli, total coliform and total colony sum had been valued to be too high (not suitable for swimming). In general in this vacationing area where many people visit, the pools which are owned by hotels do not pass the necessary requirements and are in clear violation of swimming pool regulations set by the Ministry of Health.
