Özet (EN)

In this study, identification of G. vaginalis that is reproduced in vaginal samples obtained from KETEM/Aydın, evaluation of their suspectibility to commonly used antibiotics and after evaluation offering proper antibiotics in empiric treatment against to G. vaginalis are aimed. In the experiment, 220 vaginal swab samples were used and 26 G. vaginalis strains were isolated and identified. Antibiotic suspectibility tests were performed by antibiotic discs that contain either of Metronidazole, Tetracycline, Erythromycin, Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid, Doxycycline, Colistin, Clindamycine, and Penicillin. Results showed that all the strains are resistant to Metronidazole, Colistin and Penicillin; while 20 of them (77 %) susceptible, 2 of them (8 %) moderately susceptible, 4 of them (15 %) resistant to Tetracycline. 8 strains (31 %) were found susceptible to Erythromycin, as 18 of them (69 %) were moderately susceptible. Resistance to Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid, Doxycycline and Clindamycine were seen 4 (15 %), 2 (8 %) and 2 (8 %) strains, respectively. Susceptibility to same antibiotics occurred in 16 (62 %), 24 (92 %) and 14 (54 %) strains, respectively. Moderately susceptible strains to Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid and Clindamycine were 6 and 10. respectively. Consequently differences in the rates of resistance and susceptibility to antibiotics attract attention in accordance with literature. Necessity for determination of G. vaginalis strain with culture method by taking vaginal swab and administering treatment after antibiotic susceptibility tests of identified bacteria is propounded.
