Abstract (EN)
Lighting systems have a large field of evaluation in several terms from light sources to electrical equipments, from optical designing to modeling, from control solutions to maintenance and renewing. The designer should be aware of all the details and the effects of these details on the system since system design covers all of these topics. To be a good designer of lighting systems, a great knowledge is necessary on equipment and material sciences as well as the equipment parameters and their effects on the overall system. Basically, efficiency can be explained as the efficacy factor of equipment or systems including several equipments. Even in the simplest system, efficiency is not a function of a sole parameter and the results of parametric effects may vary according to the effects of other factors. Especially in lighting systems, there exist great differences among the components. Generally, up-to-date technologies are developed to build more effifient and long life infrastructures. Hence, applications with regard to the quality and efficiency will include up to date technologic trends. The peripheral compability and quality of components play an important role on the long lifed and efficient system infrastructures. This issue is the most fundemental factor to provide the sustainability of the system efficiency. The sustainability of the efficiency may vary according to the duration of operation, peripheral and other factors. The topic of efficiency absolutely includes the loss and saving issues. Maintanance and renewing approaches losses can be minimized resulting in a more efficient and long-lifed infrastuctures. Control systems and saving issues are also the basic items of designing. However, the first step to build an efficient system is to create an efficient infrastructure. Saving issues are valuable if only they are used to limit the consumption of an efficient system.
