Male characters in Ayfer Tunç's Kapak Kızı Trilogy

She has received awards for her contributions to short story and memoir writing. In her novels, Tunç delves into the individual's inner world, exploring personal dilemmas, value conflicts and societal transformations. Beginning her literary journey with the short story collection 'Saklı', she employs everyday spoken language to craft a distinctive narrative style. Through her novels, Tunç portrays the development of male characters, their internal conflicts and their interactions with societal norms. Often placing male characters at the center, she conveys social transformation and critique through their experiences. In her works, male characters are depicted as more active and influential in social life compared to female characters. These male figures, more engaged in professional life than their female counterparts, are shaped by the era they inhabit and the familial structures in which they were raised. Generally, the male characters in Ayfer Tunç's 'Kapak Kızı' triology are portrayed as individuals with a certain level of education. While some have clearly defined educational backgrounds, others' educational histories remain unspecified.
