The increase of energy consumption and greenhouse gases which are collateral to development of country necessitate using renewable energy sources and detailed policies for energy saving. The energy performance analyzing required to determine class of building performance.Building energy performance standards have been developed based on the specialized structure. The approach of architectural design came to the fore based on energy conservation, energy efficient and to take advantage of passive solar energy. Passive design criteria and standards gained prominence at an increasing value.At this point, architects have to use a scientific way (system analysis and design models based on climate zone, environmental data, building form etc.) instead of intuition while setting the architectural features of the building and the architect's expectations for the purpose, design approaches and decisions.In this study, low-rise residential buildings, passive design criteria (systems and parameters) were examined by using Design Builder v3 simulation program. Hot and humid climate zone, the case of Antalya, passive design parameters, optical and thermo physical properties of the building envelope, window sizes, the use of local shading devices have been analyzed with in the building energy performance perspective.The aim of this paper is analyzing the impact of passive design parameters on building energy performance and identify the most effective one.According to the results, the case of Antalya, a linear plan typology with a large South façade is the appropriate orientation and form. Isolation are the shell of the building, a solution on the scale of building element, unless there is proper orientations were considered as an alternative solution.Key Words : Passive house Standard, low rise residential buildings, building energy performance, orientation, form
