Elchibey's place in the history of Azerbaijan

The thesis study, which comprehensively examines the place of Abulfaz Elchibey in the history of Azerbaijan, consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, Elchibey's family ties, life, childhood and youth, as well as his academic years are examined, and his leading role during the Sumgait and January 20 events is mentioned. In addition to the relations between the Azerbaijani People's Front and Elchibey, the entire political career of Elchibey, including his presidency, is investigated and the coup attempts made against him are mentioned. In the second part, the aspects of Elchibey's domestic and foreign politics, his attitude in international relations, his relations with neighboring countries and so on. topics are also included in the scope of our research. In the thesis, Elchibey is considered as a Turkish thinker as a leader, and both his perspective on the South Azerbaijan problem and his ideals to unite the Turkic world are examined. In the third chapter, Elchibey is mentioned as a historian and his many historical works are researched. His "The Establishment of Ahmad Ibn Tulun and Tulun State", "On the Collapse and Disintegration of the Abbasid Caliphate", "The State of Tolunids", "On the Way of Complete Azerbaijan" and so on. His works are examined one by one, and analyzes are made on Elchibey's approach to the science of history as well as his ideology and ideas.
