Abstract (EN)

By the condensation reaction of diamines containing azo pyrazole group; 3,5-diamino-4-(3-nitro-phenylazo)-1H-pyrazole(N-azo) and 3,5-diamino-4-(3-bromo-phenylazo)-1H-pyrazole (Br-azo) with thiophen/furan-2-carboxyaldehyde, Schiff bases; 3-amino-5-(furan-2-carboxyaldimine)-4-(3-nitro-phenylazo)-1H-pyrazole (N-fur), 3-amino-5-(furan-2-carboxyaldimine)-4-(3-bromo-phenylazo)-1H-pyrazole (Br-fur), 3-amino-5-(thiophene-2-carboxyaldimine)-4-(3-nitro-phenylazo)-1H-pyrazole (N-tk) and 3-amino-5-(thiophene-2-carboxyaldimine)-4-(3-bromo-phenylazo)-1H-pyrazole (Br-tk) and their Cu(II) complexes were synthesized. The structure of the azopyrazoles have been determined by using spectroscopic method (1H-13C NMR, FT-IR, LC-MS, UV), TG/DTA curves, molar conductance, cyclic voltamogram (CV) and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The antibacterial activities of the compounds against Gram negative bacteria; E. coli ATCC 11230, P. aeruginosa ATCC 15442, K. pneumonia ATCC 70063 and Gram positive bacteria; B. cereus NRRL-B-3711, S. aureus ATCC 6538, E. faecalis ATCC 29212, S. Agalactiae ATCC 13813, B. subtilis ATCC 6633 have been investigated by disc diffusion and microdilution methods. The activity results show that Cu(II) complexes have higher activites than other?s.Key Words : Azo pyrazoles, Schiff Base, Antibacterial Activity, MIC
