TESE IN AZOSPERMIC INFERTILE MALE: RESEARCH ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FSH VALUES, DUKTAL PATHOLOGY AND SPERM POSITIVITY Dr. Burak Saygılı Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Urology Department Dumlupınar Bulvarı 07059 Antalya Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between follicle stimulating hormone levels, testicular pathology results and TESE positivity before testicular sperm extraction surgery in patients who were admitted to our polyclinic with infertility complaints and who were diagnosed with azoospermia. Material and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of patients who were referred to our polyclinic due to infertility between June 2014 and June 2017. Among these patients, those who had testicular sperm extraction (TESE) in our clinic with the diagnosis of azoospermia were included in the study. The role of FSH values in predicting sperm positivity was investigated by obtaining history information, hormone values such as follicle stimulated hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), serum total testosterone, postoperative sperm positivity and pathology findings. Chi-square analysis was performed for FSH assessment as one of the factors affecting the presence of sperm in the TESE operation. Findings: The mean age of the 142 patients included in the study was 35, FSH levels were 16.61 (1.4-18.1) mlU / ml and serum testosterone levels were 4.36 (2.41-8.27) ng / ml. Sperm was detected in 58 patients (41.1%) with TESE operation. The chi-square test analysis we conducted showed statistical significance (p <0,05) that pre-procedural FSH value could guide the sperm retrieval rates with TESE. Conclusion: The pre-TESE FSH values of azoospermic patients affect the likelihood of spermatozoa in terms of application; we will be able to contribute to informing the cases before the transaction.
