Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between badminton players' perfect performance levels in sports and their perceived coach leadership, coach-athlete relationship and coach communication skills. In addition, the study aimed to examine whether badminton players' perfect performance levels in sports and their perceived coach leadership, coach-athlete relationship and coach communication skills differ according to variables such as gender, age, education level, duration of badminton playing, level of sports playing, gender of the coach and duration of working with the coach. 374 active badminton players between the ages of 14-32 participated in the study designed according to relational and descriptive scanning methods from quantitative research methods. The research data were obtained using the Personal Information Form, Perfect Performance in Sports Scale, Coach-Athlete Relationship Inventory, Leadership Scale for Sports and Coach Communication Scale. SPSS 25.0 statistical package program was used in the analysis of the obtained data. The data analysis process started with determining whether the data showed normal distribution. In the normality assessment of the data, the results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and the Skewness and Kurtosis values were taken into consideration. Since the research data did not show a normal distribution, nonparametric tests were used in the analysis of the data. In addition, Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used to evaluate the suitability of the Leadership Scale for Sports for the research group. In order to determine whether the scores obtained by the badminton players from all data collection tools used in the research differed according to the variables of gender, age, education level, duration of playing badminton, level of doing sports, gender of the coach and duration of working with the coach, the Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H tests were used. In order to examine which groups the significant difference was between as a result of the Kruskal-Wallis H test, the Mann-Whitney U test was performed between the paired groups. In order to determine whether there was a significant relationship between the scores obtained by the badminton players from the Perfect Performance in Sports Scale and the scores obtained from the Coach Communication Scale, the Coach-Athlete Relationship Inventory and the Leadership Scale for Sports, the Spearman Brown Rank Difference Correlation Coefficient was used. According to the findings, it was determined that there was a weak and negative significant relationship between the perfect performance levels of badminton players in sports and the scores they received from the general and sub-dimensions of the coach-athlete relationship inventory, which are closeness, commitment and complementarity; that there was a weak and negative significant relationship between the perfect performance levels of badminton players in sports and the scores they received from the general and sub-dimensions of the leadership scale for sports, which are educational and instructive behavior, democratic behavior, autocratic behavior, social behavior and feedback behavior. On the other hand, it was determined that there was no significant relationship between the perfect performance levels of badminton players in sports and the scores they received from the coach communication scale. In addition, it was revealed that the perceived coach leadership of badminton players differed significantly according to the variables of gender, age, education level and sports playing level, the perceived coach communication skills of badminton players differed significantly according to the variables of gender and badminton playing time, and the perceived coach-athlete relationship level of badminton players differed significantly according to the variable of sports playing level. As a result, it was revealed that there was a weak and negative significant relationship between the perfect performance levels of badminton players in sports and their perceived coach leadership and coach-athlete relationship, while it was seen that there was no significant relationship between the perfect performance levels of badminton players in sports and their perceived coach communication skills.
