Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of the research is to analyze the published scientific studies on badminton. Material and Method: The case study model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The data were obtained from studies published in the British Medical Journal, Eric, Ulakbim National Databases, WOS, Google Scholar, ProQuest and YÖK National Thesis Center databases between 1939-2020. A total of 856 publications, including 624 articles, 134 papers, 71 master's and 27 doctoral theses, were included in the research. Content analysis was performed on the raw data. Results: According to the years, the most publications were made between 2016-2020. Author distributions of the studies were found to be balanced. According to the language of publication, 751 of the studies are in English and 105 are in Turkish. Articles were published at most in the SCI Expanded and at least in the AHCI database. A total of 134 proceedings were presented, 90 of which were full texts and 44 of which were summary texts. Of the studies, 670 were carried out with quantitative, 105 qualitative, 54 mixed and 27 compilation methods. Experimental analysis patterns were used the most and historical analysis patterns were used the least. Stratified and simple random sampling methods, which are among the probability sampling methods, were mostly used. The most study was done with athletes, and the least with instructors. As a subject, the most studies were carried out on exercise and sports physiology, and the least on recreation and physical education and games. Studies focused on physiological, anthropometric and motoric measurements as the main theme. Conclusion: As a result; new scientific research related to badminton may be more beneficial to conduct on physical education and games, recreation, physical education for the disabled, sports and physical activity, sports history and sports management.
