Abstract (EN)
This research aims to examine the acoustic change of baglama's body when its size is changed. The instrument 'baglama' is traditionally made of wooden material. It consists of the body (music box), the cover ( face) and the neck. It is well known that features of the face influence the acoustic sound for all the stringed instruments. This research examines the influence of the body part on the acoustic sound when its size is changed. Within the scope of this research, two short-necked baglamas were made of the same tree species with same technical characteristics. Produced from the same materials with the same methods, the bodies of these baglamas have different sizes but same thickness. Technically, the sound indexes of these two baglamas which have different-sized bodies were measured by a computer program and the acoustic differences were determined. In this research, first of all, the structural parts of baglama were determined. Then, the baglama family was classified according to their sizes. Two different-sized baglamas were produced in the workshop. Their body size are different whereas their wooden material and thickness are the same. These baglamas were subjected to the digital measurement under the same conditions, the acoustic differences were scientifically determined and figured with graphic method. As a result of this research, We tried to create an importance while determining the acoustic differences and with this importance We suggest to create new point of views and ideas for instrument production and selection. This research is a quantitative research. The data was obtained with the help of digital measurement techniques. The data were evaluated within quantitative data analysis. The acquired data shows that when the size of the body of a baglama is changed, the acoustic sound changes as well. In parallel with this result, We developed some suggestions relating to the production and selection processes of these instruments. Key Words: Baglama, The Body Size, Acoustic, The Acoustic of Baglama.
