Abstract (EN)
This study evaluates the implementation methods of health communication and public relations-centered social policies in the fight against substance addiction and the effects of strategic public relations in this process. The aim is to develop a functional model by presenting practical recommendations based on this evaluation. The sample of the study consists of Turkey, the USA, Australia, South Africa, Spain, and Bangladesh. The scope of the research includes the national action strategies and performance reports of the last three terms of the countries studied. A concurrent mixed-method design typology was used in the study. In this design, document analysis was used as a quantitative data collection technique to numerically evaluate the successes of countries in combating substance addiction through the SPSS program. Content analysis was used as a qualitative data collection method to determine the strategies implemented by countries in the fight against substance addiction. The Maxqda program was employed in this determination process. The data obtained from both sources were interpreted and reported comparatively, resulting in the development of an effective model for combating substance addiction. The Socio-Integrated Prevention Model consists of eight dimensions: social dialogue and interaction, social solidarity and goodwill, the establishment of social peace, the achievement of social reconciliation, social justice, social welfare and inclusivity, social security and sustainability, and social self-sacrifice and community integration. The aim of the Socio-Integrated Prevention Model (SIPM) is to integrate social policies aimed at informing the public and preventing substance use with health communication strategies in a holistic approach to combat substance addiction. Through this integration, the goal is to reach all segments of society, reduce substance use, and promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
