Post-independence Azerbaijan foreign trade policy and its results

Azerbaijan declared its independence again on October 18, 1991, 70 years after the Soviet Union. In this study, it is aimed to examine in detail the post-independence foreign trade policy of Azerbaijan and its results. In order to achieve this aim, the relevant literature was searched by scanning the sources of Azerbaijan and Turkey. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, there is information about the identity of the country, its geographical structure and natural resources, energy resources, general economic situation, the history of Azerbaijan and post-independence foreign trade and the historical development of Azerbaijan. In the second part, the international trade policies of Azerbaijan and its macro indicators from the independence process to the present are given. These indicators include government budget, inflation, employment, economic growth, sectoral assessment, customs tariffs, export and import indicators. In the third chapter, there is information about the historical dimension of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations, post-independence economic relations, import and export between the two countries, joint investments of Azerbaijan and Turkey. This section also includes information between Azerbaijan and Turkey after the Second Karabakh war between the two countries. Azerbaijan's foreign trade relations are expanding day by day, especially the fact that Azerbaijan is an oil and gas country plays an important role in the expansion of its foreign relations and its development as a country. In the conclusion part, there are conclusions regarding the current foreign economic relations of Azerbaijan and suggestions for the future.
