Abstract (EN)

Born in Giza in 1935, Mohammed Bahaa Taher developed an early interest in literature. He studied history at Cairo University and became one of the socialist-oriented writers of the "Sixties Generation" in his works. He blended Egypt's social and political transformations with the inner world of the individual by gaining recognition both nationally and internationally. This study is composed of an introduction and three main chapters. The introduction provides a general overview of the political and literary atmosphere of Egypt that shaped Bahaa Taher's literary identity. The first chapter examines the author's life and works. The second chapter offers a technical analysis of Nuktat al-Nur(Point of Light), focusing on narrative perspective, characters, time and setting, language and style, as well as narrative techniques. The third chapter discusses the prominent themes featured in the novel. Keywords: Arabic Language and Literature, Modern Arabic Literature, Bahaa Taher, Nuktat al-Nur, Point of Light
