On assesment old Turkic words in Bahaeddin Ögel's books and articles

Bahaeddin Ögel is one of the most important cultural historians who grew up in our country. Bahaeddin Ögel, who has devoted his life to researching Turkish culture, has over 100 articles and papers and over 10 books. In this study, the articles and books of Ögel containing the Old Turkish period are focused on. The work consists of two main parts: The Introduction and the works of Bahaeddin Ögel. In the introduction section of the study, the opinions put forward about the boundaries of the Old Turkish period are given, the opinions of Bahaeddin Ögel about the Turkish language are mentioned, and information about his life and works are given. After this chapter, Ögel's articles and books related to the Old Turkish period are discussed respectively. In these works, first the opinions put forward by Ögel about words were included, and then the usage areas of the word were determined as a result of scans made of dictionaries and texts. The words were collected from the texts of the Köktürk, Uyghur and Karakhanid periods, but examples of other period works were also presented in places. A total of 824 words and expressions were evaluated. Our main purpose in this study is to include Bahaeddin Ögel's views on Old Turkish words, to determine the view of a cultural historian on language, and to reconsider the words that are important for Turkish culture together with the Turkology that has developed from Ögel to the present. to extract words from different periods of current and Old Turkish. to present examples and contribute to Turkish culture.
