Abstract (EN)
Muhyiddin Mehmed b. Bahāeddin (d. 952/1545), known as Bahāeddinzāde from the mashāyikh (sheikhs) of Khalwatī-Bayramī, is an Ottoman scholar who is competent in religious and rational sciences, and combined theology and sufism. In this study, Bahāeddinzāde's approach to the problem of qada and qadar (the problem of destiny) which he discussed and analyzed on the basis of a'yān-ı sābite (immutable entities) and istîdadat (aptitudes), was tried to be revealed in the context of the author's work called Risāletü'l-qadā ve'l-qadar. Our thesis consists of an introduction and four parts. In the first part, the life and works of Bahāeddinzāde are discussed based on the studies on the author. In addition, in this section, the Arabic and Ottoman copies of the manuscript called Risāletü'l-qadā ve'l-qadar, which are the subject of the thesis, are emphasized. In the second part, after mentioning the method followed in the editing of the treatise named Risāletü'l-qadā ve'l-qadar, the edited Arabic text of the treatise is given. In the third part of the study, there is a Turkish translation of the treatise. In the fourth and last chapter, the aforementioned treatise, which determines the subject of the thesis, is evaluated by comparing it with the previous works on the subject. Bahāeddinzāde's approach to the issues has been examined in the light of the main sources of the Akbari tradition, and it has been seen that he tends to Akbari wisdom. Bahāeddinzāde, in his work called Risāletü'l-qadā ve'l-qadar, dealt with the nefsü'l-emr and Allah's knowledge of things in detail, he examined it with the concepts of "ilm-i husûlî" and "ilm-i huzûrî". Unlike Islamic philosophers and theologians, the author has placed the concept of nefsü'l-emr at the base of the levels of existence. In addition, Bahāeddinzāde, who dealt with the problem of destiny on the basis of divine wisdom and aptitudes, questioned the will of man and tried to solve the problem by adopting the understanding of the relationship between science and knowledge and the eternal nature of aptitudes. On the other hand, he has adopted the understanding of pre-eternal appreciation, saying that hasene (favour), du'a (prayer) and sadaqa (charity) are determined in eternity in the matter of the effect of hasene, prayer and charity on providence.
