Medical activities during the Bahrî Memlûks Period (1250-1382)

Health is a very important issue for human life. Definietly İslâm has dealt with health very closely as the other huge civilisation. The protection of health and health, which is accepted as the precondition for worship in Islam, has been studied intensively since the first ages of Islam. The first origin of Islamic medicine was the Quran and hadith. With the access of the Islamic State to ancient inscriptions, Ancient Greek and Hellenistic medicine became the source of this field. Medical studies and progress in Islam were briefly and essentially examined until the medical activities of the Bahri Mamluks period, which is the subject of this master's thesis. Mamluks became a safe area against the invasions of Islamic lands from the west and east. This development, which is also valid in the field of science, has enabled Islam to reach the top of Islam with Mamluks, especially in health and medical activities. The study was organized in Bahri Mamluks as medicine, Bahri Mamluks period physicians and the drugs used in this period.
