Abstract (EN)

In this study, in order to improve the mechanical properties of copper-based electrical contact materials, the changes in the mechanical properties of the composite material obtained by mixing MAX phase and pure copper and sintering were observed compared to pure copper. The powder, which was put into the acid bath to remove the impurities in the structure of the commercially used MAX phase, was washed, dried and made ready for mixing after a short waiting period. The MAX phase, which was mixed with pure copper in certain proportions with the help of a planetary ball mill, was then taken into molds and sintered by ECAS method and experimental samples were prepared. First of all, surface images were taken from the samples, then XRD analysis was performed and its components were examined. After these processes, linear wear tests were applied to the samples and graphs were obtained. SEM images were taken from the wear surfaces of the samples, which were subjected to wear tests, for analysis. After this step, the samples were subjected to microhardness test and their hardness values were analyzed. Afterwards, the samples were cut and the cut pieces were mounted in order to get a cross-sectional image. The surfaces of the mounted parts were sanded and polished and SEM images were taken. The data and images obtained from these tests applied to the samples were analyzed Keywords: Copper Composite Materials, MAX Phase, Sintering Processing with ECAS, Wear of Copper Composite
